I'm a late starter.
I wasn’t an arty kid at school and I certainly didn’t go to art college although I have always had an interest in photography. As a child in the 1960s I had a cheap plastic camera and in the 1970s I was developing my own film in the spare bedroom. In 1999 I bought my first digital camera and discovered Photoshop.
It was against that background, when I was in my late fifties and enjoying semi-retirement, that I was stunned to discover that I could learn how to draw.
I developed a preference for pen and ink portraits and everyday scenes and the sketchbooks began to fill up.
I consumed online art courses and eventually signed up for Sebastian Michaels' Photoshop Artistry courses. Then came the Eureka! moment when I realised I could combine 15 years of Photoshop experience with my own art work.
My digital work is based on the composition of multiple images layered and pieced together often incorporating my own ink or graphite sketches.
My passion is to expose mundanity as extraordinary, the everyday as magical and to represent life’s joys and challenges in a way that might resonate with…….you!
Thank you for viewing my work.
