Papillon / Papillon Lost

Inspiration

The inspiration for this piece was the white, salt-scrubbed and wind damaged trees at the Arches Provincial Park in Newfoundland. These stark trees are absolutely gorgeous. Model was graciously provided by The Colby Files, and I used her face and hand and created the cape. I also shot the butterflies at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix and had the cape dissolving into them as she walks. A close-up of this art piece, with mainly the model's face, was featured in Conceptual Magazine in their September issue. This piece won Second Place in the "Mystery" competition at Heaven Art Gallery in November, and was showcased at the gallery for two months, and was included in some of their You-Tube promotional videos for the studio. This image took First Place in the Photography/Digital Art category for the Light, Space and Time "All Women" competition in January, 2018, and won Second Place overall for the entire competition. It has also been published in MagazineGPS Digital (Brazil).
