Evergreen is a tribute to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The main photograph is of Mount Rainier, Sunrise side, but the mountain was only partially out once we got up to the day lodge, at 6400 feet elevation. The very top was obscured by clouds, yet it was beautifully framed by pine trees. Such a vista cannot truly be contained by any frame, hence the spilling out effect. Ferns are abundant in the northwest woods, so those are included, too. The snowy ground, falling rain, gray misty atmosphere, and passing waterfowl round out the overall feeling.
