Hi, I am Cathrine I was born in the beautiful county of Yorkshire in the UK. There, I was surrounded by the stunning Yorkshire dales, woodlands and wild moors where I spent many happy years as a child.I loved nothing better than to go exploring in the many woodlands, collecting leaves and acorns, mushrooms and wild flowers, also to my mother’s despair I was always bringing home sick and injured animals to nurse back to health and then release back into the wild. I would climb trees roll in the meadows and go fishing in the many brooks. It was this childhood that gave me my continuing fascination and love of nature which is prolific throughout my art. My father was an artist and worked in the advertising industry and it was he that encouraged me to paint and draw providing a small studio for me in the loft. I use to daydream constantly and still do, couple this with my love of nature and this is how my art has developed. A combination of nature and fantasy very often subjects are portrayed as being one with nature and quite ethereal in style and at times even morphing into one another. Later in life I developed a fascination with digital art which allowed me to create pieces that I could not do with paint and canvas. This is the direction that my art takes today creating natural fantasy and nature pieces with the aid of digital manipulation. I still go out and collect many natural items found in the woodland and then extract them and incorporate them into my digital art pieces and I still love to paint, many of my textures and backgrounds are hand painted and then transferred to my computer to use in my art. I have had pieces of my work placed in local galleries and have won competitions for my digital art, my work has also been published in Living the Photo Artistic Life.
